Topical

New plan - Voltaren gel (2 grams rub on the boney areas for pain four times a day). And MM homemade oil rub with EMU gel every 4 hours. So I’m alternating between the prescription and the MM. Hoping for much less pain

I have been using the creme for 4 months. I can feel the difference.
It doesn’t last long, but takes the pain away. I am also using Lidocaine creme in between times.

The MM rub works and I love the EMU gel. So I’m using it in between. Looks like I’m rubbing something on my knee every two hours.

I was injured, May 10. Using the creme in groin area. Very painful without the Gel. Also using it on my hip area.

Not familiar with the topicals as I have two herniated discs and other degenerative changes in my back. Therefore I have no input, but please keep us apprised of your pain relief journey.

Search hemp salve or CBD oil. You can get blue EMU cream at Walmart but so far so good with topicals . But it’s only been 24 hours. Tomorrow will be the test as I’m driving from Michigan to Illinois and back

Good luck with your drive. I drove from Texas to Illinois, visited a month and drove back in September.

So glad you are finding relief in your pain. Please be careful driving. Because I signed a Pain Medication sheet, I can not use anything but what the Dr prescribes. Looks like my hips might be causing the pain now.
I have had back problems for a long time. No hip problems…
But because of the Bus accident,
Dr thinks I might have caused some injuries. Referred me to a Specialist, hips and Sciatica…
We will see. Have a great weekend and enjoy your trips

I’ve been making this drive every month since March 2018, and going back and forth since Moving to Michigan in 2005. I love the drive. Trip state definitely tests your patience. My heart is in Illinois but I reside in Michigan. I stop once on the way right after I cross into Illinois but on the way home I drive straight through.

The Voltaren gel works pretty good for me.

I had a Dr appoint, Nov 21, tests show a problem with both hips.
Specialist called today, I will be getting injections in L-Hip and a week later R-hip. I’m using the Gel and Lidocaine patches now. Maybe looking at hip replacement
Not looking forward to this…
Gel is definitely worth trying to ease the pain.

So yesterday was a bitch. The drive on Monday was interesting. Had lunch with my Dad. Went to the cemetery to talk with my Mom. Had alot of pain trying to sleep. Did all my creams, gels, and homemade all day. Put a gel ice pack on my knee to stop the throbbing. Today NO pain. I have a week until I get a synvisc shot and they don’t always take effect right away. But I believe the prescription gel, mm homemade oil and blue EMU cream is working wonderfully.

The voltaren gel is a blessing. And the homemade oil and blue emu gel help amazingly well too. I got the syn visc shot on Thursday and I’m experiencing a different kind of pain. I’m hoping it kicks in soon

So glad you are getting some relief. The Gel does help.
I received a Cortisone shot in my R groin area. Trying to relieve the hip pain. It has made a great difference. I go again on Tuesday for a Cortisone shot in the L hip.
Never had a problem with my hips. Always the lower back. I wish my Regular Dr had believed me about my pain. I could have had this sooner. Oooh well. It is now working.
Have a great day, hope you are doing better.

My pain has decreased significantly. Watch with cortisone shot. They are a 90 day shot. Take calcium/vitamin D. Steroids can make your bones brittle

Thank you, after this next shot I will see how I feel. They have been talking about hip replacement?? I don’t know what to think? I had Sciatica and lower back surgery May 1, 2018. Took 1 year off of work. Started walking again, feeling very good. May 1 2019 I was ready to return to work. I was riding in a Bus, accident occurred. Started having hip pain, groin and lower back. My pain was getting worse. Very hard to walk. After a few months, Dr said it was all in my head. I was so mad at him. I saw a Counselor and went to a pain Management class. Both of them said, the pain is real, not in your head!! Had another appoint. This time he listened. Sent me to the Specialist. Wish he had listened a few months ago. But we are headed in the right direction. I was ready to get another Dr. I will stay with him for now.
Thank you for listening. Feels better to vent…
