Need to GAIN weight and muscle

The past year I lost over 50 pounds that I wasn’t trying to lose. I am 5’1” tall and currently weigh 129.2 pounds. I am gluten and lactose intolerant. Also have a low fiber diet.
My husband and son seem to have found the weight I’ve been losing. They are both “under tall” which makes them look over weight. So does the scale.
Is there anyone else struggling to gain weight, and what are you trying?

Eat balanced within your restrictions. Walking is good exercise and low impact.

If you aren’t losing weight on purpose, is your doctor aware? A nutritionist or dietician may be a good resource for added nutrition within your limitations.

All my doctors are aware and concerned. My PCP wants me to weigh about 150 and so do me specialists. I was supposed to have a surgical procedure to get muscle and nerve samples removed from my thigh and calf this week but it has been postponed because of running a fever, blood pressure going all over the place and my pulse going over 100.

Girl I would be so happy to be 129 pounds. I am at 180 pounds. Love yourself because at the end it does not matter how much you weight is. Anyways I would go see your Dr because he or she would know best. Good luck and I will pray that you will get the answer that you are looking for.

Thank you

I lost weight, mainly muscle. Due to a number of conditions. Have recently started cardio rehan and feel more energy and muscle is improving. Including cardio and aerobic exercise 4 to 5 times a week will help you.

Just an update. I had to go to the ER today and they ran all kinds of tests. The UTI is gone, but I have pneumonia and a possible blockage in my GI tract and abnormal liver enzymes. Since I was afraid I might be having a heart attack, I’ll gladly take the pneumonia etc.

Healing vibes! Take care!

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts.

Try protein powders specifically for weight gain and gaining muscle.

Can you suggest for weight gain? I am of 167 cm hight. In recent few month back I begain to loose weight attaining 46 kg from normal 58/60 kg I am old case of Thyroid.Elteoxine has been my coarce & monitored with TSH value under medical curr guide.Currenty it rage @ 190/200 units. My tab eltroxine is raised from 100 to 150.I am not gaining weight.Dr assign reason to other which He can not diagnose but thyroid.I am patien of rhumarois arthrities & GI function weak.I amam having treatment for that but not do not succeed to recover.Pl advice

Can u drink protein shakes? I’m on a low carb low fat low sugar diet. So I don’t eat a lot of food food. But protein shakes to keep my protein levels up. When u lose weight and don’t have enough protein in ur system ur body will begin to target ur muscle instead if fat. Its easier for it. If it looking to gain healthy weight, may I suggest adding a protein shake to your diet. Dont replace a meal add it to your day. An easy way to see what ur target protein is, is to cut it weight in half. Last time I saw my nutritionist I was 190 so my target was about 180 grams of protein. Its very hard to get that with food alone (especially since I’m trying to lose) so my shakes have 25-30 grams of protein. For you. If you are also eating a protein rich diet (meats and veggies for ur fiber) you could begin to gain healthy weight. For your family… I’m 5’2 and was 250 this time last year. That weight was crazy hard on my body. I began substituting the shakes for meals and exercising. That might be good for the whole family. You can work on adding a shake and they can work on replacing a meal and both work out. Them with more cardio and u with more weights…
I hope this helps. Also talk to ur doctor a out this. Ask him/her to refer you to a nutritionist. They can really help you reach ur goals best. I love mine.
