I’m a lifelong biologist/physiologist even though not employed as one. I was so lucky as to study oxytocin, bonding, etc with a first generation researcher, be employed by a second generation one. It’s exhausting but not every day. I get infections that last for months. I’m not entirely sure what the prognosis is. It’s hard to work, the US punishes people who can’t so benefits? Food stamps (less than $200/mo), 2 local grants of $300 and $200 once every few years and Medicaid. At least there’s that. Best country in the nation, huh?
